It's hard to remember what my thoughts were at the time. I know that I didn't like any of the Built to Last tunes and I never liked Vince but I was lucky to see what I think were the last good shows- 3-29-90 and 6-17-91. I wasn't a big fan of the midi effects although in a few cases I thought they sounded good. Eyes from 3-29-90 and the Scarlet-Fire transition from 3-22-90 (which I got on tape) come to mind. I also attended 9-9-91 (which became a Dicks Pick) and remember thinking the Aiko was great because of Jerry's trumpet solo.

I jumped on the bus in 1986 and within a few years the fans seemed to care more about bragging about how many shows they attended vs quality. The gate crashing and miracle seekers and Jerry's decline was enough for me to know to call it quits. 1987-1989 were fun though.

87 - 89 they were America's party band!
And they were fun years, and the music was still pretty good too...imo
They were the last years I consider myself to be active (e.g. seeing more than just a random show here or there), and it was a terrific time to be part of the scene..
